Hi, I’m Ron Franklin. I began writing online articles in 2011, though I didn’t really get serious about it until 2013. Since then I’ve written literally hundreds of articles that have been published on a number of online sites.

I’m originally from Chattanooga, TN, and graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. I worked for a number of years as an engineer and manager for high-tech companies such as IBM and EDS.

Though I enjoyed my engineering career, I eventually began to feel a call to help people connect to God through Jesus Christ, and live the abundant life He promises to those who follow Him. So, off I went to attend and graduate from Denver Seminary in Colorado. I then became the founding pastor of a new church in Harrisburg, PA.

As a writer I tend to focus on subjects that relate to my own background and experience. So a lot of my writing has to do with the Christian faith and how it relates to individuals and to the society in which we live.

Having grown up near the Chattanooga and Chickamauga battle sites, and now living within a stone’s throw of the site of the Battle of Gettysburg in Pennsylvania, I developed a deep and abiding interest in the American Civil War and have written extensively on topics related to that conflict.

One subject I frequently explore is African American history. I particularly enjoy bringing to light little-known stories of ordinary people who became extraordinary by their commitment to overcoming the obstacles prejudice and discrimination placed in their paths.

Below are listed some of the sites on which my writings appear, along with some articles of particular interest. I hope you’ll take a look. Thanks!
